Poyo Jelly / Gelée Poyo (com.appynamic.squishy) · October 16, 2026

The short version. Poyo Jelly is a game for children aged 4 to 9. It has no ads, no purchases, no account and no chat with other people. The game asks for no name, email or photo, and everything your child makes stays on the device. The only data that leaves the device is anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (Google Firebase). A parent can turn them off in the parent area. The microphone is used only on the device: nothing is recorded or sent.

Who we are

Poyo Jelly (called Gelée Poyo in French) is published by APPYNAMIC (company ID 80321944300014), 23 rue Raoul Briquet, 62700 Bruay-la-Buissière, France. This notice describes how this game handles data. It sits alongside our company-wide Appynamic Privacy and Cookie Policy. Where the two differ about Poyo Jelly, this page is the more specific one.

A game made for children

Poyo Jelly is directed to children and is designed to follow the Google Play Families Policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The game has:

  • no advertising, no advertising identifier and no in-app purchases;
  • no account, sign-up, login or profile, and no field where a child can type text;
  • no chat, no contact with other players, no social features;
  • no location, camera or contacts access, and no notifications.

The settings are in a parent area that opens only after pressing and holding a button for 2 seconds. The only link that leaves the game (to the game's Google Play page, to leave a review) is inside that parent area.

What stays on the device

The game saves its progress in the app's local storage (keys starting with poyons:). None of it is sent to us:

  • the Poyos discovered and the ones created in the magic cauldron;
  • outfits, decorations, the apartment and house in Squishy World, the daily basket;
  • settings: sound, music, vibration, shake, microphone, statistics, graphics quality, language;
  • which tutorial has been seen and when the Google Play review sheet was last shown.

Android may include this data in the device's own backup (Google's Android backup or a transfer to a new phone), as it does for most apps. Uninstalling the game, or clearing its storage in the device settings, erases it.

Anonymous statistics and crash reports

To fix bugs and see which parts of the game are played, Poyo Jelly includes three Google Firebase components. They describe a device and a session, never a person.

ServiceWhat it collectsWhy
Firebase AnalyticsThe screens opened (for example "malaxer" or "papote"), sessions, and one technical event about the graphics mode; device model, operating-system version, language, approximate country, app version and a Firebase app-instance identifier.To know which activities are played and on which devices.
Firebase CrashlyticsCrash and error reports: the error message, the code location (file, line, function), device model, OS and app version, the graphics mode, and an installation identifier.To find and fix crashes.
Firebase PerformanceStart-up and screen-rendering times, with device and app version.To find what makes the game slow on real devices.

We configured these components for a children's game: the advertising identifier is not collected (and the related Android permissions are removed), advertising storage and ad personalisation are denied, and no user identifier is ever set. We do not use this data for advertising, profiling or anything other than improving the game.

Turning it off. Statistics are on by default. A parent can turn them off at any time in the parent area, under Anonymous statistics: analytics, crash reports and performance measurement then stop. Because the setting lives in the game, the first launch is measured before a parent has had a chance to change it. Firebase processing is covered by Google's Firebase privacy documentation.

Microphone (Chatter)

In Chatter, a child can talk to a Poyo. Android asks for permission before the microphone is used.

  • "Repeat" mode: the Poyo repeats what it hears in a funny voice. The sound is kept in memory only for that moment, then discarded. It is never saved or sent.
  • "Chat" mode (Android 12 or later): speech is turned into text by the device's own on-device speech recogniser. The game never uses an online recogniser: if the device has no on-device model, this mode is simply not offered. The text is answered by fixed phrases written for children and forgotten after two minutes. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.

A parent can turn the microphone off in the parent area, and can install the device's speech model or voice from there; those downloads are handled by Android, not by the game.

Voice

The Poyos speak using the device's text-to-speech engine. The game only sends it fixed texts from the game (names, short sentences). The engine is a system component chosen by the device maker; it follows its own privacy terms.

Photos

The 📷 button saves a picture of the Poyo on screen (an image of the game, not a camera photo) to the device's gallery, in a "Poyo Jelly" album. The game has no camera access and uploads nothing. On Android 8 and 9 only, Android asks for permission to write to the gallery.

Google Play review sheet

After a few minutes of play (about 5 minutes, then once more after about 30 minutes and at least 3 days later; never more than twice), the game may ask Google Play to show its standard rating sheet on the home screen. The sheet belongs to Google Play and uses the Google account of the device; the game never learns whether a rating was given or what it said.

Android permissions

  • INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: statistics and crash reports.
  • RECORD_AUDIO and MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS: Chatter (asked at first use).
  • WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Android 8 and 9 only, to save a picture to the gallery.
  • VIBRATE: the vibrations a parent can turn off; WAKE_LOCK: used by Firebase.

What Poyo Jelly does not do

  • No ads, no purchases, no subscriptions.
  • No account, name, email, phone number, photo or voice collected.
  • No location, camera, contacts or notifications.
  • No game server: the game works without us storing anything about your child.
  • No sale or sharing of personal data.

How long data is kept

Data on the device is kept until it is deleted (clearing the app's storage or uninstalling). Statistics, crash reports and performance data are kept by Google Firebase for the periods set in its documentation (for example, Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days).

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of data, and to complain to a supervisory authority (in France, the CNIL). Because the game holds no account or profile on our side, there is usually nothing on our side to retrieve. A parent can stop all data leaving the device by turning off Anonymous statistics, and erase everything by uninstalling the game. To exercise a right, or for any question, contact us.

Changes

If the game starts handling data differently, this page is updated and the date at the top changes.
