Terms of Use

Doku — The Lost Chronicle · November 1, 2026

These terms govern the use of the Doku — The Lost Chronicle mobile game (called Doku — La Chronique perdue in French), published by APPYNAMIC, Rue des Cyprès, 62290 Noeux-les-Mines, France. It is a game for children: these terms are addressed to the parent or legal guardian who installs it. By installing or using the game, you accept them.

The game

Doku — The Lost Chronicle is a free action-adventure game for children aged 5 to 13, with no advertising and no in-app purchases. It works without an account and plays offline. Chapter after chapter, grouped into episodes, and in mini-games, Pip finds the lost pages of a Chronicle of the history and heritage of northern France (the Nord and Pas-de-Calais). The fights are cartoon fights: the Mist's creatures are "dispelled", never killed. Its content (chapters, mini-games, companions) may change with updates; we may add, change or remove features to improve the game or keep it working on new devices. The game requires Android 8.0 or later and a device able to display 3D graphics.

In-game rewards

Coins, stars, pages, companions and other in-game rewards have no monetary value: they cannot be bought, exchanged for money or transferred out of the game.

Licence

APPYNAMIC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the game on devices you own or control, for private, non-commercial entertainment. You may not copy, sell, rent, modify, decompile or redistribute the game, nor remove its notices, except where the law expressly allows it.

Parents' responsibility

The game is designed to be played by children with a parent's supervision. Links to the outside and erasing progress go through a parental gate (a multiplication a young child cannot do yet), in the For parents section of the settings and at the bottom of the Credits. Parents choose the settings (sound effects, music, vibration) and how long their child plays.

Sourced historical content

Each page of the Chronicle tells a fact of history, nature or heritage, taken from a cited source; the list of sources is in the game's Credits. The explorer's notebook is an indicative list of species, not an official inventory. The characters (Pip, Russet, Hoot, the Grimoire and the guides Pip meets), the Grey Mist and its Mistlings are made up: the Mist's creatures represent no people and no army of history. The journeys through time and space, and some places, are imagined, and the game says so. A few chapters touch on grave moments, such as the two World Wars: they are told in a child's words, with no weapons or violence shown, and we suggest that parents discover them with their child. Despite our care, a mistake is possible: please tell us. The game is a work of entertainment and discovery; it does not replace a lesson or a visit to the places.

The places, museums, monuments, works and giants mentioned belong to their owners or their communities. Mentioning them implies no partnership with them and no endorsement from them.

The game's links lead to our own website (the Olhain website, the privacy page, appynamic.com). They go through the parental gate and open in the phone's browser, outside the game. The links from those pages to other sites (our sources, the places mentioned) are provided for information; we are not responsible for their content.

Intellectual property

The game, its name, the name Doku, Pip, Russet, Hoot, the Grimoire, the Mist and its Mistlings, the companions, the artwork, sounds, music, code and texts are protected by intellectual property law and belong to APPYNAMIC or its licensors. The open-source components used by the game, listed in its Credits, remain under their own licences. These terms give you no right over the game other than the licence above.

Privacy

How the game handles data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

Availability and liability

We do our best to keep the game working well, but we cannot guarantee that it will be free of errors or available on every device. The game is provided "as is", to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content under French and European law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the game changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the game after an update means accepting the new terms.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by French law. In case of a dispute, please contact us first so we can find a solution together. Consumers may also use a mediator or the courts competent under the law.
